Workshops for Schools

Problem solving and decision making should be a tool all people carry through life. As such, workshops delivered by myself will always be free to public schools.

Background

After serving in the RAAF for a decade, I joined Disaster Relief Australia to continue my passion for helping others. Throughout my military career, I developed deep experience in leadership, resilience, and operational problem solving.

Today’s students face a barrage of distractions, competing pressures, and the chaos of digital life. Yet they are still expected to achieve, focus, and plan for their futures — often without being given the right tools.

Based on my experiences in Defence, Disaster  Relief Australia and as an author, I have developed two interactive workshops to help equip students with real-world skills for overcoming adversity and achieving their goals.

Through Adversity (50 mins)

An energetic, interactive talk focusing on resilience, problem solving, and overcoming challenges. Delivered kinaesthetically, visually, and auditorily to engage all types of learners.

Outcome:
Students will identify a personal project and develop a forward plan to navigate potential obstacles.

Suggested Audience: Years 5 to 8

The Decision Making Framework (50 mins)

A streamlined method to teach students how to effectively choose their goals, identify distractions and create a plan to achieve them.

Especially useful for students struggling to identify future careers.

Outcome:
Students will identify three primary goals and map out a realistic plan to achieve at least one.

Suggested Audience: Years 9+
